Table Tennis
Welcome to the Table Tennis (TT) page for Lowlands Club which has a thriving TT section.
Lowlands is a private members’ club, and therefore it is not possible to book a table for play as a member of the general public. Current members only can invite a guest to play for which there is a small visitor fee payable (currently £3 per player per session). A visitor may
have to up to four visits at which point membership must be taken up to continue access to the Club’s TT facilities.
The hall at Lowlands provides excellent playing conditions for competitive match play, practice and social TT with space for up to three tables set out at League team practice sessions. We have three new Donic (blue) tables purchased in 2024 for the sole use of TT League and practice group members. There is also a table for games of social TT.
Please note that in order for the Club’s TT teams to be competitive in the local League, the TT section’s Sub-committee (TTSC) assess all new players before acceptance into our League and practice group and prior to the offer of a TT team place. The standard required may vary from time to time according to our playing strength and is determined by the TTSC.
League TT and matches
Lowlands is a member club of the local Wembley & Harrow Table Tennis League. Please visit https://www.tabletennis365.com/WembleyAndHarrow for more details. You can view the progress of our teams during the league season without a log on.
The winter 2024/25 League and cup competitions commenced in late September 2024 and will run with breaks over Christmas, New Year and for individual championships in February 2025 through to early April 2025.
Lowlands are a key contributor to the local TT League structure and are one of the largest contributors of teams. This season we have 9 teams competing. During the TT League season the hall is reserved for Home matches on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings with all matches scheduled to start promptly at 7.30 pm. When our teams are playing Away matches these could be held on any weekday evening Monday through to Friday depending on the host venue.
Lowlands TT Membership category - TT League players only
This category of membership is for League standard players who wish to play competitively. Our League team squads are generally confirmed during August for each winter League season, however we welcome new players including Juniors to the club throughout the year.
Please note however that League team entries are determined by the TT League which may limit the number of team squad places we can offer taking into account our current TT membership.

Please set out details of your existing playing level, duration and experience (Club, League division etc).Your email will be forwarded to a member of the Club’s TT Sub Committee who will then be in touch with you to discuss and arrange a playing assessment for suitability to
join our League and practice group.
Social TT at Lowlands
The Club also provides a TT table for games of social TT at Lowlands which may be used by other Club members - Tennis and Social. In order to access this facility members must request to join the Club’s TT Affinity Group which offers a good way to help find a playing partner and through which a TT booking can be requested.

If you are a Tennis or Social member and wish to consider playing competitive TT, you should contact a member of the TTSC who will need to assess your suitability for entry to our League and Practice group and to be considered for a League place.
Important note for all members
The hall where TT is played is a multi-functional facility which may result in limited times for TT league team practice or to play social TT. When looking for a time to play, all members should follow the simple TT booking process below.
Guide for Members only - How to Book a TT session
All Club members must pre-book a table tennis session. It is not permitted to use the TT facilities without a booking. Follow these simple steps:-
1. Refer to the Social/Events Calendar on the Lowlands website at https://lowlandsclub.com/events-calendar/ to check whether the hall is available for TT. Please note that the calendar does not show TT bookings except League matches and the Junior coaching session on Thursdays. Therefore the calendar may indicate that the hall is free but it may occasionally be unavailable due to other TT bookings. Friday morning and Sunday morning TT sessions are reserved for TT league players only and to welcome and assess potential new League players.
2. Send a WhatsApp message using the TT league or TT Affinity Group (for games of Social TT)
Details required are:-
- Full names of ALL members (and any visitors) playing in the session
- Day and date of booking request
- Your approximate start and finish time to allow fair usage.
Please give reasonable notice for bookings, preferably at least 24 hours.
Please note requests for TT bookings made using the email address [email protected] will not be responded to.
3. Our three Donic (blue) match tables are reserved for use in League matches or league team practice only - games of social TT must only take place using the green table, stored in the first section of the hall storage area.
4. At the end of your session, table(s) and nets MUST be returned to the storeroom. All TT players must take responsibility for the care of equipment and tidy storage. The hall is multifunctional - TT must ensure that the hall is left tidy for the next users of this space.
TT Coaching
Table tennis coaching mainly for Juniors is available through Mitchell Jones, a qualified UKCC level 2 lead coach who books space in the hall for coaching sessions. As a player, Mitchell achieved a top 8 England junior ranking and top 30 senior ranking and has worked alongside a number of international coaches. Social Events
All members are encouraged to participate in a wide range of social events which the Club
organises.
